Notice: Consultation to amend CST-GA Policy 001, SPC Token Access Policy
CRTC CETD 2021-267, August 5, 2021
“The Commission determines that the denial of access to secure telephony certificates to all telecommunications service providers (TSPs) that do not have direct access to numbering resources is neither necessary nor appropriate, and that such access should only be denied where there is reason to believe a TSP cannot be trusted to maintain the integrity of the STIR/SHAKEN framework. Accordingly, the Commission expects the Canadian Secure Token Governance Authority to create, in collaboration with the currently ineligible TSPs within 60 days of the date of this decision, eligibility requirements that reflect the Commissions determinations in this decision.”
CST-GA is pleased to provide notice that a series of meetings are planned (see schedule below) to which all interested TSPs are invited to engage in a contribution driven consultative process to create SPC token eligibility requirements in keeping with the Commission’s determinations. Please note that the proposed schedule may be amended by consensus of the participating TSPs.
To ensure that these meetings are productive, and every effort is made to achieve consensus within the mandated timeframe, CST-GA will provide a neutral third-party facilitator and administrative support for the process. TSPs may register to participate by sending an e-mail to [email protected].
Note all times are in Eastern Time Zone; Meetings will be scheduled between Noon and 2 PM. CST-GA will distribute contributions on receipt but no later than 4 PM two days in advance of each meeting. Minutes will be issued 2 business days following each meeting.
Contributions should, at a minimum, include:
- Name of the author and TSP affiliation
- Description and rationale for proposed eligibility requirements
